DEN103 Introduction to Practicum 1 credit

Prerequisite(s): ( WR90R ), or instructor consent

Corequisite(s): ( DEN101 and DEN102 and DEN114 )

Introduction to Practicum provides an extensive overview of office responsibilities, work ethics, and prepares students for the challenge of their multiple roles in the dental office, including: guest, intern, student-worker, and administrative assistant, chairside assistant, and housekeeping worker. Students will review and discuss the expectations and protocols for their upcoming practicum classes, including but not limited to: the stages of an internship, the weekly required paperwork, work ethics, industry safety standards, and strategies for meeting their learning objectives. Students will have the opportunity to tour an active dental office.

This course may be taken 1 time for credit.
